What is Bonprijs?
A price-comparison tool for Dutch grocery shopping — look up one product or build a whole basket, and see the real price at every supported store side by side, so you know where it's actually cheapest.
Which supermarkets are compared?
Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Dirk, and Vomar today, with more on the way. Coverage varies by store — not every store carries every product, so a given item may only show up at some of them.
How often are prices updated?
Prices are re-scraped regularly across every supported store, so comparisons reflect what's currently on the shelf rather than a stale snapshot. Exact timing can vary a bit store to store.
Do I need an account to use this?
No. Searching, comparing, and building a basket all work with no sign-in at all — saved baskets just live in your own browser in that case.
What happens if I sign in — what data is tracked?
Signing in (Google or a passwordless email link) only unlocks a savings dashboard: your saved baskets sync to your account instead of just your browser, and the app tracks your frequently bought items, monthly savings, and price history over time. It isn't used for anything beyond that.
How accurate is the price matching across stores?
The same real-world product is automatically matched across stores by name, brand, size, and barcode where available. It's generally reliable, but store descriptions aren't always consistent, so on rare occasions two similar-but-not-identical products can end up compared — always worth a glance at the product name and pack size before assuming it's an exact match.
Why does it show unit price (€/kg, €/L) instead of just the sticker price?
Because the lowest sticker price doesn't always mean the best deal — a smaller pack can look cheaper while actually costing more per kilo or litre. Comparing by real unit price finds the genuinely best value, not just whichever pack size happens to be in stock.
Are my saved baskets private?
Yes. Baskets saved without an account live only in your own browser's local storage and are never sent anywhere. Baskets saved while signed in are tied to your account and visible only to you.
Is this affiliated with Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Dirk, or Vomar?
No. This is an independent, unofficial price-comparison tool. Prices are gathered from each store's own public website; store names and logos are shown purely to identify where a price comes from, not to imply any partnership or endorsement.
